Kitzsteinhorn Top of Salzburg

The highest summit in Salzburg

Kitzsteinhorn Top of Salzburg

Kitzsteinhorn Top of Salzburg is open 365 days a year and is the only 3000 m summit in Salzburgerland. With the modern 3K K-onnection gondolas and the Glacier Shuttle, you can go up to 3029 m above sea level. Here you will find two platforms with an amazing view on the Hohe Tauern National Park.

It is a special experience to go up from the green landscape with the gondola to 3000 m. Once you reach the top, you almost forget that it is summer below. The snow on the glacier is natural snow, which remains all year round. In the summer, the upper lifts on the glacier are open, as are some restaurants.

Besides the amazing view there are many activities on top of the Kitzsteinhorn.

Gipfelwelt 3000:

Gipfelwelt 3000 is an exhibition that is located on the Kitzsteinhorn. While going to the second panorama platform you will walk trough a tunnel in the mountain. You will pass different small expositions with information about the Kitzsteinhorn and the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Ice Arena:

In July and August you can sledge at the Kitzsteinhorn. There are two ways to reach the Ice Arena. One via the snow/slope. You need to walk about 100m through the snow. The other route is a hiking path between the Gipfelwelt 3000 platform and the Ice Arena.
